And it was so lovely...

I'm probably the last slasher in the world to watch the film "Happy Together", right?

But just in case I'm not, it's out on DVD and I know I'll watch it again many times.

The story is a simple one; two people are in love. They are miserable apart- and miserable together. One of them leaves in a huff, the other learns how to move on from it.

Simple; but these characters are so real. The film is one of those that carries you into the lives of its people so deeply you don't *notice* you've been swept away. And it lifted me emotionally by the end without weakening the angst a bit. I don't want to say much more, because it's going to be better unspoiled by expectation.

Also: hothothot!mansex!
[The final sentiment is put forth by billy's id, which is aggravated at all the fluffy sentimentality.]

And One More Thing!

[livejournal.com profile] ivyblossom recommended a book a few months ago; The Mysterious Mr. Quin by Agatha Christie. She said it was good, and also slashy. She is *most* correct. The adorable Mr. Satterthwaite is terribly smitten by the dashing Mr. Quin.

["Yes, I must confess- I do adopt that attitude towards you. A man of magic. Ha, ha. that is how I regard you. A man of magic." -Mr. Satterthwaite to Mr. Quin, from "At the 'Bells and Motley'".]

Any other Christie fans out there? Who also like the supernatural? Mr. Quin could be designed purposely to be crossed with Neil Gaiman's Sandman stories. I suspect that if Dame Agatha were twenty today, she'd be writing fantastic slash fiction.

Ivy, I wish you a thousand and one Harry/Draco stories. I thought I'd read all of her books already. I was ready to try a nice mindwipe for another go.
