Days I'm Just Posty

Two things, one a little ranty reflectiony thing, and the other, a polar bear moment.

Ranty thing.
I frequently come across the idea that admitting to hatred of a loved one spells doom for a relationship. I find this a bit bewildering, because I tend to the “we always hurt the ones we love” philosophy on human relationships. Flawed, colorful, we screw up and it really hurts in a technicolor way when you are in love. The ones you love can really nail you where it counts, and I’ve never yet met anyone in my life who wouldn’t do so given the right set of conditions. Sometimes I’ve been actually grateful for it later. And still hated that person at times. More so when I deeply love them as well.
I wish I knew of a forum where I could read people’s thoughts on this. When people in stories say “I could never hate you,” I always think about what’ll happen when person x steals the last piece of cheesecake or yells at person b while they’ve got a bad headache, etc. But considering how often the subject seems to come up in fiction, I’m wondering what philosophies spawn those conversations. And do these other people really never feel red rage at those they adore?

Polar bear moment.
I found myself scanning my flist today, and actually thinking that there was hardly any Stargate: Atlantis stuff. I want to read commentaries on Season 2 Rodney and Sheppard interactions!
