The clowns are out there, man, just waiting.

SGA story ideas that I won’t be using because I am not writing Atlantis soap operas, no way no how.

Ford kidnaps McKay because of his technical know-how. He has super-scenting powers due to the enzyme, and now knows that Rodney was always attracted to him previously and that is why he acted so jumpy and irritable with him. Rodney is seduced and imprisoned, and made to fix and create things to protect others from Ford’s threats (a lot of Ford’s new recruits are young, sweet guys, some of whom are really smart and Rodney just can’t see them hurt). Ford regularly praises and pets and controls him, and in fact loves him in his own currently crazy like a fox manner. By the time John comes, Rodney is well on the way to Stockholm Syndrome. He knows better and acts correctly, but emotionally he is full of passion for Ford and distress over his rescue. (He was wanted there! They need him; without him all those guys are going to die! They took out more hive ships together!)

They return to Atlantis. Since he is totally different in behavior, nobody but Ronon knows how to deal with McKay (since Ronon was a Runner, he can intuit Rodney’s internalized terror and since he has learned to handle his own extreme PTSD he has good advice for poor Rodney). Elizabeth approves of them bonding, because she wants Rodney to have a bodyguard in case anyone else tries to kidnap him, or Ford comes back for him. Also, because of Ronon and Ford’s similarities, he is powerfully drawn to Ronon. Sheppard and Teyla are completely distressed, especially as Sheppard and Rodney had an affair back during their trip to Earth, and then a nasty break-up, and a period of détente followed by slowly-growing closeness. Sheppard is still intensely attracted to him, and it had been mutual before Ford snatched his geek.

Ronon at first assures Sheppard that he has no intentions toward McKay, but finds his empathy called forth and his heart swayed. Rodney has to sleep nearby and makes Ronon come with him everywhere, and Ronon makes him work out and teaches him to fight. Meanwhile, hanging out with McKay familarizes Ronon with the scientists, who teach him many things and discover he is remarkably intelligent, with a natural gift for mechanical engineering (he improves significantly on the design for a set of jet-skis). All of this freaks Sheppard out completely, and he is obsessively searching for Ford because OMG Rodney is broken and It’s All My Fault. He and Teyla become much closer since she is sticking to him like glue and trying to talk him down.

And then other stuff happens and Ford reappears and Rodney has to choose and I guess that’s all I have time for right now.
