Stinkiness abounds.

Well, what goes up must come down. Bad news today to counteract the happy new hobby rhythms of yesterday. I would say something French, but I'd rather talk about the movie I just watched, and maybe Smallville a little. And moan about how now I had to give up Showtime I can't watch the new season of Queer as Folk. Moan.
So, movie. Notting Hill.
Cute, good sub-characters. Julia Roberts annoys me, but there were funny lines to move the story through the slow parts. And the romantic angle actually worked for me, oddly enough. But. I'm rather weirded out by the fact that I enjoyed it so much with NO SLASHINESS AT ALL. It's been so long since that happened, I was beginning to wonder if my het-ometer was broken. But now I think that maybe I just haven't seen any decently written het films in a long time. Huh.
Does this mean that if I start reading Jane Austen again I won't be thinking "Darcy and Bingly seem quite close..." and getting slash bunnies?
Oh, speaking of films, and bad het romance, Episode II.
The absolute least chemistry between a leading man and woman ever. Truly sad. And they are both so sparkly! Lots of chemistry between Obi and Ani, some between Ami and Obi, none at all between Ani and Ami.
I'm becoming jaded.
Actually, here's where I was going to ramble on a bit about Smallville and post a couple of snippets. But I'm all squishy and sad, so. No.
