Like many other happy fen, I do my most humble Dance of the Possessor.
Pirates! In my hot little hands.

Random Question Corner:
1. Why does Elizabeth/Norrington turn my crank? Because. Guh. And not just because Jack Davenport is a dem fine figure of a man, either, because it's the *two* of them that does it. (Though I have adored Jack since Ripley.)

2. Why isn't there a scene where Jack licks Will? Perfectly innocently, of course, but. Just a taste. Maybe spilled rum or something. He needs salt!

3. Why do I love Elizabeth's father so very much?

4. I think Elizabeth should go forth on her own, really. Independence! Freedom! And yet; I want Norrington to sweep her off her feet and. Lots of sex. ::ahem::
But then the freedom and the open sea. Maybe a nice, heavily oral affair with Anamaria. More freedom. And then a world tour with whatever-the-hell-his-first-name-is-but-what-a-cutie Norrington. Is this wrong?

5. Any two members of this cast might be having sex. Look at them! They are all so shiny. Except Barbossa. He has magic dulling lotion. But still, charisma will have its way. And also, he likes shiny food. But, if he likes apples so much, why the teeth? *g*

6. Do I sound like I only enjoy the movie for prurient reasons? (I'll tell you a secret; I actually love the pirate/curse/treasure/heroic fool/friendship-in-unlikely-places thing immensely as well. Though licking is always nice.)

[livejournal.com profile] permetaform just now got my interest with this post:

What is my story?
I seem to have several. One I love is the dangerous magnetism of the borders of feeling and behavior. Viva la ambiguity. Hate/love, sex/predatory behavior, male/female/other, the edges of consent. I especially love stories in which the person is swept over the border by strong sensation. Maybe this is why I don't enjoy rape fic, but love semi-consensual fic. It has to be convincing on an affective/sensory level, though, to really be borderline fic for me. Mulder/Krycek, anyone?

Another is the Magic Door story. Bopping along in the bowels of the Black Pearl, Will climbs up through a hatchway into... another place altogether. Who is that strange white rabbit?

OH, and, then there is The Forbidden Love. I adore this one. It is related to, but different from, the borderline story (though they can co-exist well). How can Mercutio love Romeo the way he does, when Romeo throws his love aside like so much chaff? Who can be more sexually forbidden to Mal Reynolds than the sunny mechanic he loves like a sister? Except maybe that aggravating but sexy upperclass Doctor. Best friends can be the ultimate in forbidden love, too. Starsky & Hutch must overcome!

[livejournal.com profile] permetaform's fish also work for me; lives entwined but whole. Unseen forces that draw you to someone to create a larger entity different from and inclusive of both.

Another deeply loved form is the Glorious Friendship. Which is probably why I'm a slasher, really. Glorious friendship, held together by loyalty, kindness, mutual respect, clear sacrifice. And most of all, mutual acceptance in spite of profound differences. When people take heroic action purely for the love of another person, regardless of the form of their connection. This is a nice flexible one, that can be adapted to any two human beings at all, but works best for Mounties and Chicago flatfeet.*g* Just kidding, Illya. And then, the sex as the cherry on top.

I *could* go on.

Further thoughts on the ongoing story idea:

1. Sometimes I'm going to approach a fandom looking for fan fiction that tells my favorite stories in the given canon context, or with the canon characters. Ex: Wanting a Yohji/Aya story in which Aya's anger and frustration with Yohji transform into passionate desire. Classic borderline fiction. Nothing much to do with Weiss Kreuz arc, except using the characters/settings. Alternatively, I might go into a story looking for a new imprint.
Trigun created in me a need for beloved!Judas fiction.

2. Another favorite story type I will call "Isolated Settings Make Us Horny", aka "I Think We're Alone Now". The classic example of this is the Star Trek Spock/Kirk cave fic. But it's okay to be the only two humans amongst those scary Martians, that have read and understood Finnegan's Wake, or who know what it's like to be gay in This School.

Okay, being quiet now.
