Master and Commander is most definitely worth the price of the ticket.
If I could be bound, hand and foot, tied to the mast and never allowed to write or read another slash story, I'd still call it a good movie. But! Oh, the slash!
Paul Bettany made Stephen Maturin distinctive and attractive, without sacrificing the film in any way. And Jack Aubrey is engaging and annoying, in turns. Perfect slash material.
I won't spoil, but I will heartily recommend it. Most heartily. Most Manly Movie of the Month.
Men, men loving men, manly action with each man being a man, facing his manly responsibilities. Yep.
I do admire a film that can hold to a theme.
And the iguanas were way cool.
