Did anyone else think that Michael Rosebaum was the best thing about the MTV Teen Choice Awards? I was filled with the Horror through a lot of the badly scripted presentations. Then like a breath of fresh air, he comes forth with his comments about how they might as well all say "blah, blah, blah", since their words are all written on the monitors anyway.

I try to keep a little distance in my iconocrushes. But Michael, along with CKR and Peter Wingfield, endangers my happy remoteness severely. I knew it was trouble when I saw him with hair. and still found him sexy. eep. It was a Lex thing, before that moment. Now it's turning into a Michael thing.

You are in control of a unique world, wherein details suit your mood and everyone acts according to your whim. Love, hate, lust, joy, and even sadness all work your will on the people that act out your script. Characters are altered if the tale you tell necessitates it.

Or so you’d like to think.

Because Joey, (who was supposed to be watching Smallville and later meeting Tom Welling for a quick bout of alley sex) is cuddled up to Lance on the couch, rubbing his feet. Lance, who is so perfect on paper for JC, keeps leaning on Joey’s warm belly while he angsts over Chris. He is jealous that Chris doesn’t praise him like Justin or tease him like JC. And Chris, who is always different than you expect, isn’t trying to break up JC and Lance before realizing that Justin is his One True Love.

Instead Chris is watching JC and Justin argue, with a fond glint in his eye and a decidely straight porn mag in his hand. He is also watching the episode of Smallville Joey and Lance are ignoring, and seems quite captivated by the cute little blonde playing the snarky reporter. Chris hasn’t decided yet if JC and Justin are engaged in foreplay or a prelude to violence, and you don’t think they know either.

It’s all falling apart.

Refusing to give in is the first step to retaking control. You have secret weapons at your disposal; you will be victorious. Mary Sue steps admirably up to the plate, knocking on a bus door with a schedule in hand and a plan to send JC and Lance off on a colorful promotion to Brazil. She has made arrangements to have Joey visit his daughter for a month, then start a grueling schedule of exercise to slim and tone himself. Coincidentally the spa she suggests is one frequented by television actors, and is located in Toronto.

That’s setting things on their proper course, you snigger. Only to watch Justin stop staring menacingly at Chasez long enough to demand that he be sent to Brazil instead of JC. Lance obligingly offers to send both JC and Justin, while he remains with Chris to “hold down the fort”. Chris then pipes in with a request to join the spa himself, to lose the extra weight he’s gained lately. Joey, not to leave poor little Lance all by himself, asks Lance to accompany him to see his daughter. Lance is reluctant, but agrees, while the tenors smoulder at each other.

You think you may need a drink.
