I'll be taping the Video Awards tonight, so I'm posting early.
Just read some stories by Arsenic Jade that were pretty decent; in fact, I highly recommend that JC/Nick fans go read the light, sweet, and dancey "Hep Cats".
I saw Nick on that "rich folks and their toys" show with his speedboat. Oh *#$). Sucked right into his little happy smile. I knew I was messed when he started yammering about how he would was ready to drive it, and I found myself saying to the SO "it was so *cute*, y'know, all sweet and genuine." Holy conundrum, Batman. How did I get to this pass?
Anyway, my inner Kirkpatrick babbled a bit in my imagination, and snippet XXX is therefore displayed for your amusement and/or disdain.

Another Freakin' Snippet

It was on his 30th birthday that Chris decided to select one of his harem to keep and let the rest go. Lance had been getting antsy lately in any case, talking about going to space, and Joey had a child to raise. Plus, Justin going solo would bring in more wealth for all of them, with the added publicity. And he thought JC really needed more of his direct attention.
Direct, as in actually telling JC that he belonged to Chris and they were going to have sex now. The previous seven years they had accumulated enough wealth to last for the rest of their lives, and JC had enough time to get used to having Chris take care of him. Actually, if he were to be honest about it, Chris had originally intended to keep Justin or Lance. And it might be a little shallow that JC’s new beauty had affected his decision, but he had always adored all five of them.
The only problems Chris foresaw were Justin’s attachment to the group as a whole, and JC’s difficulty in recognizing his own sexuality. The sweet thing had been insisting he was straight for years, throughout bad relationships with women and terrible same-sex crushes. Once Chris and JC had established their “special” bond, Chris didn’t mind if Justin wanted to hang out at their house and play band with JC. But until the all-important binding of the Chasez, Justin was too distracting.
