stungunbilly: (Oh My)

I'm not really ready for my foray into bandslash yet:
  1. I'm still all Winchester-attached, and Sam is still Sam.
  2. SGA and I have had a cordial separation, but I may get over my distaste for the direction of the show at some point and need a fix of Ronon, swooshy!ships, and Teyla's little puzzlement wrinkle. Or just start up Season 1 again and fall in love with John/Rodney and put off doing the paperwork yet again.
  3. I've been having anime *urges*. You know the ones. Getbackers is shiny.
  4. I've spent the last week helpless in the sway of Xander Harris, who just gets better with time. Plus, I just got my Season 1 Buffy discs in the mail.
  5. There are about a hundred miscellaneous fandoms crying out for a phone call or at least an email from me, and the SO is bringing up that Due South story we were working on together.
  6. I <3 Reaper. I don't *want* to start writing in that 'verse, but I've already started in my head; and okay, to the SO, who also likes the show just fine.
  7. There are THREE other new shows I like. This doesn't happen. None of them are the ultimate show, but I enjoy them AND they have slashy potential. (Which, to be fair, I find pretty much everything does, but still.)
  8. I just got Rome Season Two from the library. Pullo/Vorenus all the way.
  9. CW_RPS still has so much untapped potential.
  10. JC is making weird career moves again, and Lance's book is coming out!
  11. I'm just getting ready to read straight through the HP cycle as a whole.
  12. I've been mulling my own version of NaNo.
  13. There's too much animosity between bandlslash and my other fandoms; I'm not judging anyone, I just don't want to deal with squack. I won't choose.
  14. There is no #14; I just didn't want to leave it at 13 in case I developed triskadekaphobia.
So, of course all of a sudden (read: "blame Alex and funny crack fiction"), I have become fascinated by Patrick Stump's genius and the weird facial stylings of Pete Wentz. And maybe watched a video on youtube. And then also looked up who that Gerard Way guy is.

But, I understand that there are tons of boys and pairings and whatnot in this fandom. So, bandslash people, sell me! On your favorite band, your favorite song, the best pairing that ever wore emo, the ultimate interview. This is your opportunity to convince me that your guy(s) are the coolest.

Or, alternatively, explain to me who I should never, never read about, because he killed a kitten several times on stage before burning down a Tibetan monastery. Or likes conservative talk radio. Whatever.

Tell me!
Thanks to [personal profile] sinsense and [personal profile] meinnim, I have learned a number of things today. However, they are not to be blamed! And also, there is still time to show me the light and turn me to the pairings, bands, and bandboys that you personally feel are the most important. This offer does not expire at midnight!

These are the things I've learned:

  • Jon Walker is in love with Spencer Smith, in that warm and squishy bff-because-you-complete-me way.
  • Pete Wentz has a pretty serious unrequited crush on Patrick Stump, who loves him but not like *that*. Ew! Smoochies!
  • Patrick Stump would've been voted Least Likely to Be a Hot Sex Object in High School. And yet, has to fight the Hottest Sex Object off with a drum stick.
  • He is also probably the most talented of all the band guys I've seen yet.
  • Panic! At the Disco has the best cooperative performance skills of the bands I've checked out so far.
  • Gerard Way looks a lot like a young version of Paul Gross.
  • Mikey Way may have slept with Pete Wentz.
  • Pete Wentz will try to steal the spotlight in any way necessary, but is usually like a bonobo in his attempts.
  • Brendon Urie has serious star potential; looks, charm, self-deprecating wit.
  • Bob Bryar lacks a survival instinct.
  • Frank Iero needs vitamin supplements.
  • If Gerard Way's and Frank Iero's hair run away to be together, I will not be surprised.
  • There are two other members of Fallout Boy, but they have to fight for screen time, and the Andy-guy seems disinclined to bother.
  • They aren't very indie, but they play it on TV.
  • The theatre of it all is the whole point; the music is secondary.
  • I really like a bunch of their songs, though they can't compete musically with a number of other bands I've been listenting to lately.
  • These guys would totally write slash about themselves, which is AWESOME.
