So, Stargate: Atlantis. I only started watching it for the slash, you know? Because all the whos down in Whoville were writing it, and I wanted to see! But I'm on episode 3 and I've only seen the slash really between Ford and Sheppard, the anti-Arthur Dent. Ford is so pretty! He smiles! He likes S. very much, yes yes. And also, he has lovely teeth. No, wait, there was married-ness between Jack and Daniel. But that's normal.
But fortunately I enjoy Rodney, though I couldn't say why, Weir (sp?) is exceedingly strange and therefore a little interesting, and I kind of like the story. Plus, pretty images of alien!planets that look not quite entirely like Canada.

On the whole, I like it for the showness of it all, and any slash that shows up will be the icing on a snackable series.

The military/conservative/all-het/whitebread/excessively-strong-jawed/only-2-strict-genders/bad-science/deranged-diplomacy qualities are being ignored in favor of the shiny white teeth and funny aliens. Whee! I needs me some distracting, these days. Special effects, front and center, please. Spend, little Skiffy channel, spend for my pleasure!

[THIS JUST IN]
I picked up the Office, British version this Friday. It almost killed me, but what a great way to go. If I ruled the universe, a story would be waiting for me in the next week. It would be an Office AU set in L.A. in the 30's, wherein the office is a private eye business run by David Brent. It would feature Tim/Gareth, a little Tim/Dawn, and at least one scene in which Tim hides Gareth's evidence. Since I don't (big surprise, eh?), I will have to make brownies.
